  • blog issues - parse error, etc

    hi guys

i followed these instructions to create a separate blog page -

per instructions, when i change Reading Settings to Settings > Reading > Posts page: Blog i get this error message -

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home1/emasters/public_html/ on line 17
when i don't assign anything to the "Posts page" - ie. Settings > Reading > Posts page: (nothing selected) - it brings the Blog template styling closer to what i want... although i'm still having display issues in the header/feature image areas for both the blog and post pages -

i'm trying to get the Blog template & post pages to look like this 2-column inner page template on the site -

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

According to that parse error, there might be some problem with your installation. I´d suggest to try and solve that first, before you go on with styling - that might fall back on you later, if you don´t.

    - Activate a default theme (don´t worry, you will not loose your settings for Genesis/DWB)
    - Do a fresh download of Genesis
    - Delete the "old" Genesis theme folder and install the new one. Then activate DWB again and see if the error still shows up when you try to do the reading settings.

If so, please contact support staff via your "My Account" page (ticket).
